What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

What is the deal with my nickname? I don't know. It seemed like an interesting alter ego. There is little chance that I will ever be a "soccer" or a "mom," so a compound of the two is even more unlikely.

Use your words.

Think critically.

Metafilter is my Internet home, and I've been here in one form or another since 2005. A good friend once said, "You're, like, obsessed with Metafilter," and he was not wrong. I mention something from this site to another human in meatspace at least once daily, on the days that I leave my house, anyhow.

According to my Ask MeFi Interest Areas list, I mostly answer questions about relationships, dating, marriage, anxiety, depression, love, breakups, and friendship. Feel free to private message me about any of those things if you'd like. But also, this:
See a professional. I’m not a professional anything. I am just a person with an Internet connection. You should see a professional. But here is what I think anyway. I think that before you do this you need to figure out why you want to do it. (Cary Tennis, 2011).

Message me if you desire; I love mail.
