About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

When my husband was about five, he was waiting in a Little Caesar's watching people head up to the counter. It became clear that people were going up to the register, providing a name, and being given a pizza. Since he was five, he didn't make the connection between the proper name being given and the receipt of said pizza, so when it was his family's turn and they asked for a name he made an expansive gesture and proclaimed "Mr. Pterodactyl!". I think he regrets telling me this story.

Often, although less now that I have a charming muskrat (human baby), if I see in a post or comment that someone is planning to come to DC I will MeMail them to see if they want to have a meetup. Apologies if I do this to you and you'd rather I didn't OR if I miss your question and don't contact you. It's almost definitely not personal, I probably just missed it, and you should post a meetup anyway. Seriously! Come to DC! Schedule a meetup! All the DC MeFites I've met are super super nice and it's a pleasure to meet people from other cities.

If you are in DC or near DC and want to talk about coordinating anti-Trump/anti-fascist/anti-Nazi/whatever activities, please PLEASE get in touch! I don't have as much time as I'd like because of the baby but I'm trying to do as much as I can. Resist!
